Ronnie Riner: A Remembrance of Forgotten Places

“It is my desire to help the viewer revisit a place that can still be found in the gentle spirits and honest hearts of those living in a magical place called the South.”

– Ronnie Riner

The family of beloved local artist and instructor, Ronnie Riner will host an exhibit of his works at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts September 19 – 23, 2016. Riner, a prolific charcoal artist, taught art for the Muscle Shoals school system for over two decades. His drawings which thematically honor Southern traditions and culture have won numerous awards and are part of many private and corporate art collections. After he passed away in 2013, a scholarship fund was established in his honor through the Muscle Shoals Education Foundation.

The Riner family and Kennedy-Douglass invites the public to attend a special reception for the exhibit September 19, 6pm-8pm with live music from McKenzie Lockhart. The exhibition is free, and donations to the scholarship fund will be accepted. All donations can be made out to the MS Education Foundation.
